Jackson is currently a PhD student (Palaeontology) at the Department of Physics and Geology of the University of Perugia. He is also the founder of the Eastern Africa Research Centre for Palaeosciences (EARCEP). He completed his BA Archaeology degree (2014) at the University of Dar es Salaam and he later pursued his postgraduate degrees (BSc honours in 2019 and MSc in 2022) in Palaeontology at the Evolutionary Studies Institute of the University of Witswatersrand. He is very curious to explore how our early human ancestors interacted with their environment. His main research interests are zooarchaeology, taphonomy, hominin evolution, and paleoenvironments.
