Costantino is a paleoanthropologist, currently a Post-Doctoral Marie Sklodowska-Curie Individual Fellow at IPHES (Tarragona, Spain), with the project “N-SPIRE – The Neanderthal nose: reconstruction of shape, function and adaptations” focusing on the upper respiratory tract of Neanderthals. He achieved his European Doctorate at Sapienza Univesity of Rome, with a doctoral thesis on the Neanderthal skeleton from Altamura (Southern Italy). With this study and his subsequent activity as a Postdoc Researcher in the same Department, he contributed to the knowledge of this Neanderthal skeleton. After the Postdoc at Sapienza, he was a research fellow at the DFG Center for Advanced Studies “Words, Bones, Genes, Tools” of the University of Tübingen (Germany). He is an experienced researcher in the study of human fossils through virtual methodologies of analysis and digital acquisition, both in the lab and in the field.
