Mandela is a Tanzanian archaeologist who started this career in 2006 as a BA student and completed PhD in 2023, at the University of Dar es Salaam. He is a lecturer (archaeology) at the University of Dodoma, in the Department of History and Archaeology, College of Humanities and Social Sciences. His areas of research interest are Iron Age cultures, Human Evolution, and Early Food Production (Neolithic). Mandela is the Local collaborator for the THOR Project.
